22@Barcelona is in charge of transforming 200 hectares of industrial land into an innovative district offering modern spaces for the strategic concentration of intensive knowledge-based activities. This initiative is a project of urban redevelopment and a new model of a city providing a response to the challenges posed by the knowledge based society. It is the most modern project of urban transformation in Barcelona of the last years and one of the most ambitious in Europe.
The CLUSNET seminar will focus on how 22@Barcelona coordinates the urban and economic development of this large scale project based around economic clusters. The seminar will especially focus on the Design Cluster in Barcelona, its workings and current challenges.
